DAVE: but see with time travel
DAVE: all the stuff about learning it so you dont have to use it is true
DAVE: theres no good that can come of it

DAVE: creating inevitabilities you have to rehearse and enact or face death for yourself or everyone you know
DAVE: and sometimes facing death is the very inevitability you have to rehearse
As a time traveller, Dave's powers come with all sorts of complications and essentially fall into two categories Combat and Timeline Alteration.
Combat time shenanigans are relatively simple: slowing down, speeding up and skipping himself forward a few seconds to effectively create a "double" that can fight alongside himself until the current timeline catches up. This is the actually useful part of his powers, and the far less dangerous option.
Manipulating the timeline is really only able to be enacted in stable time loops, or it creates what is essentially an "alternate timeline" - where in the events manipulated unfold (the classic Trousers of Time if you will, changing a junction at the waistband means you might slide down the opposite leg, thus creating a split where both futures happen simultaneously). Which if you're operating under the rules of an inevitable timeline outcome, means messing up predetermined events will result in a dead Dave and everyone else involved in that timeline, because Time inexorably corrects its own course. Often violently.
What this boils down to is basically: Dave cannot reverse/stop an event from taking place, but he can skip around a little (within 10 minutes) to adjust events or simply give himself knowledge of what might happen. Think Doc Brown and the bulletproof vest - you can't stop the terrorists from shooting him or it would prevent the stable timeloop of Marty going back to get his parents together, but you can make sure he survives the event thus creating a better outcome for everyone involved. Because this involves some coordination (and also would require an Act of God to get Dave to agree to use it, he's Not A Fan) it will require some discussion and possible mod approval.
